Four Approaches to Club Fitting

Thinking of buying custom-fitted golf clubs? Modern technology is revolutionizing club-fitting techniques. Computers have insinuated themselves into this activity, as with almost everything else. But not everyone likes going to someone who uses modern technology to fit clubs. Some players who took golf lessons from me, for example, preferred a non-technological approach.

Basically, you have four different approaches to club fitting. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. Each also provides its own special set of benefits. But before we examine these approaches, there’s one key question you need to answer before deciding on an approach. Will you benefit from custom-fitted clubs?

Golf Tip #1: Shorten Your Driver - Lengthen Your Drives

Why has the word Standard Length lost all of its meaning in golf? What happened to Standard meaning that all things being the same you would get what you expected? In years past this definition has lost its true meaning, and in no more apparent place then in driver lengths.

Twenty years ago the standard length of a driver was 43 inches. Drivers have now stretched to as much as 46 inches! So what does this mean? Think about it drivers are getting longer and people are not getting taller. Twenty years is not enough time for us humans to genetically evolve, even though we would like to think so sometimes. The Thinking Man’s Game

With the onset of winter there are a number of other conditions that are going to affect the performance of your ball and the result that you achieve.

If the course is wet then any challenge that you have with distance is going to be exaggerated, while stopping the ball on approach shots should become a lot easier. If you feel that the loss of distance has you playing too many approach shots with clubs that you are not consistent enough with, then think about: playing a distance ball (you won t need the extra spin on approach shots) or changing your game strategy (play short of the hole and look to up and down).

Build a Niche Store for eBay - Are they Joking?

This was my thought when I discovered the sales letter for Build a Niche Store - especially when I saw I would be building an eBay store. I mean eBay is huge, and sells a huge range of products. How would people find my store? Stores and Malls don t work online do they unless you are a well-established retailer. So would I Build a Niche Store?

A niche store or a mall?

The thing about the internet is that people come looking for a particular product or type of product. I mean, if you re looking for a used Chevy Camaro you are not likely to buy a pair of shoes because you could not get the car you

Is The Golf Ball The Real Reason For Longer Drives ?

A Little History First

To determine this point, we have to travel back in time and see how the original golf ball was formed.

The original golf balls as most of us know, were made from goose feathers stuffed into a round leather ball. It is estimated that those could be hit as far as 170 yards with the modern club.

The next technological advance was the gutta percha ball. This was made from tree sap or rubber and compressed into a round mould. A modern club can hit this about 200 yards on average.
